March 27, 2009 - At 2206 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 1800 block of U Street, SE for a building. E15 arrived on side Alpha of a three story apartment building with fire showing from the terrace level. Units went to work knocking down the fire as several rescues were made from the balconies above. Extension was found to the second floor, third floor and the the cockloft. T8 assisted with RIT duties.

March 20, 2009 - At 1239 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 4200 block of 4th Street, SE for an apartment. T8 arrived on side Alpha of a three story apartment building with smoke showing on side A. T8 found a roof off in a 3rd floor apartment. E25 quickly extinguished the same with no extension. The Box was held with one and one in 20 minutes to assist investigators.
   
March 11, 2009 - At 1229 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 4600 block of Livingston Road, SE for a building. E33 arrived on side Alpha of a one story tax payer with smoke showing from the roof. A fire was found on the roof with no extension. The Box was held with one and one.

February 22, 2009 - At 0107 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 3400 block of Stanton Road, SE for an apartment. T16 arrived on side Alpha of a three story apartment building with smoke showing from the 3rd floor. T16 found a room off in the 3rd floor apartment as E15 quickly contained the same. RS3 located and removed the owner's dog from the apartment. The occupant had jumped from their window to the ground and was transported for further evaluation. The Box was held to one and one within an hour to assist investigators.
   
February 6, 2009 - At 1911 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 200 block of Savannah Street, SE for a motor vehicle accident. Units arrived to find a vehicle overturned with one trapped. T8 assisted RS3 with removal of one patient. The patient was transported to H10 for a check-up.

January 25, 2009 - At 1910 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 2800 block of Pomeroy Road, SE for a building. Units arrived on side Alpha of a four story apartment building with heavy fire showing on the second floor. Units found a fire in a Quadrant Delta apartment and quickly brought the fire under control. With frigid temperatures, the Mass Casualty Bus was called for displaced residence until the arrival of the Red Cross. The Box was later held to two and two for the investigators.

 

 

January 13, 2009 - At 1426 hours, Units with the 3rd Battalion were alerted to the 2300 block of Good Hope Road, SE for an apartment. Units arrived on side Alpha of a 12 story apartment building with fire showing on the 3rd floor with people trapped. Ops 3 requested the WFD and the 2nd Alarm bringing E33 and T8. Truck Companies went to work removing occupants while the fire was brought under control in 15 minutes. The Box was later held to two and two to assist invesigators. 

January 7, 2009 - At 2011 hours, E33 was alerted to the 3800 block of South Capitol Street, SE for a MVA. E33 arrived to find a two car t-bone accident with one trapped and requested the Rescue Assignment bringing T8. RS3 arrived and popped the driver's door so units could remove the patient. One patient was transported for a check-up and one patient signed a refusal. E33 and T8 cleared in 20 minutes.

January 3, 2009 - At 1430 hours, E33 and A15 were alerted to MLK and Malcolm X for a MVA. Units arrived to find a vehicle into a building with structure damage. The collapse assignment was called for to assess the building. RS3 shored the building as units found no one injured. Units cleared in one hour.

December 31, 2008 - At 1618 hours, Units with the 6th Battalion were alerted to the 3200 block of 23rd Street, SE for an apartment. Units arrived on side Alpha of a two story, ordinary apartment building with smoke showing from the first floor on side Alpha with occupants at the windows awaiting rescue. Attack lines were quickly advanced find an apartment off on the first floor as ground ladders were thrown to rescue occupants from the floor above. An aggressive attack quickly knocked down the fire. One occupant of the fire apartment was transported for smoke inhalation. The Box was later held with one and two.

DECEMBER 26, 2008 - AT 0631 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE 3300 BLOCK OF 11TH PLACE, SE FOR A HOUSE. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A TWO STORY SINGLE FAMILY WITH SMOKE SHOWING FROM THE 2ND FLOOR. A QUICK INTERIOR ATTACK WAS INITIATED FINDING A FIRE IN A BEDROOM, ALONG WITH A VICTIM. THE SUBJECT WAS QUICKLY REMOVED AND CPR INITIATED. THE CHILD WAS TRANSPORTED TO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WHERE SHE LATER SUCCUMBED TO HER INJURIES. THE BOX WAS LATER HELD TO ONE AND ONE TO ASSIST INVESTIGATORS.

DECEMBER 1, 2008 - AT 1452 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE 3000 BLOCK OF STANTON ROAD, SE FOR AN APARTMENT. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A THREE STORY APARTMENT BUILDING WITH NOTHING SHOWING. UNITS FOUND A BEDROOM FIRE IN A TERRACE LEVEL APARTMENT THAT WAS HELD TO ONE ROOM. TWO CHILDREN WERE REMOVED FROM THE APARTMENT BEFORE FD ARRIVAL BY MAINTENANCE WORKERS. THE BOX WAS HELD WITH TWO AND ONE.

18TH ST APARTMENT ON #3

NOVEMBER 25, 2008 - AT 0642 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE 3500 BLOCK OF 18TH STREET, SE FOR AN APARTMENT. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A THREE STORY APARTMENT BUILDING WITH FIRE SHOWING FROM THE SECOND FLOOR. UNITS QUICKLY BROUGHT THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL IN 10 MINUTES. OPS 3 HELD THE BOX TO ONE AND ONE A SHORT TIME LATER.

NOVEMBER 14, 2008 - AT 1242 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE 800 BLOCK OF CHESAPEAKE STREET, SE FOR AN APARTMENT. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A THREE STORY APARTMENT BUILDING WITH SMOKE SHOWING FROM THE THIRD FLOOR ON SIDE ALPHA. UNITS FOUND A FIRE IN THE CEILING OF A SECOND FLOOR APARTMENT WITH EXTENSION TO THE THIRD FLOOR. THE FIRE WAS BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL AND THE BOX WAS SCALED BACK TO ONE AND ONE.

NOVEMBER 10, 2008 - AT 2319 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE NAVAL RESEARCH LAB FOR A BUILDING. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A TWO STORY BUILDING WITH SMOKE SHOWING. UNITS FOUND A FIRE IN THE ROOF AND QUICKLY OPENED UP TO KNOCK THE FIRE DOWN. DC UNITS REMAINED ON THE SCENE FOR TWO HOURS WITH OVERHAUL.

LEBAUM ST BUILDING ON #3

OCTOBER 12, 2008 - AT 1657 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE 500 BLOCK OF LEBAUM STREET, SE FOR A BUILDING. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A THREE STORY BUILDING WITH SMOKE SHOWING FROM THE BASEMENT ON SIDE ALPHA. UNITS FOUND A TRASH ROOM ON FIRE IN THE BASEMENT AND QUICKLY BROUGHT THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL. THE BOX WAS SCALED BACK TO TWO AND TWO IN TEN MINUTES.

BUENA VISTA TER APARTMENT ON #3

OCTOBER 4, 2008 - AT 1717 HOURS, UNITS WITH THE 3RD BATTALION WERE ALERTED TO THE 2800 BLOCK OF BUENA VISTA TERRACE, SE FOR AN APARTMENT. UNITS ARRIVED ON SIDE ALPHA OF A THREE STORY APARTMENT BUILDING WITH SMOKE SHOWING FROM THE BASEMENT ON SIDE ALPHA. UNITS FOUND A FIRE IN THE BOILER ROOM AND QUICKLY BROUGHT THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL. THE BOX WAS SCALED BACK TO ONE AND TWO AFTER TWENTY MINUTES.
